Privacy policy
The short version: everything Tab Tidy AI does happens inside your browser. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no ads. We never see your tabs, chats or history.
What stays on your device
- Tab titles and web addresses, used to group your tabs, find duplicate tabs and search.
- Your Spaces, Archive, settings, chat folders and renamed chat titles.
- For AI Recap: the titles of AI chats the sites already show you, and the times you send prompts. We never store what your prompts say.
All of this is saved in your browser's extension storage. It is never sent to us.
Tidy History (only when you open it)
- Reads your browser history for the dates you pick and groups it by topic on your device.
- Deleting pages from your history only happens after you confirm, and the confirm box lists exactly which pages.
- Bookmarks are only touched if you press "Bookmark", and your browser asks your permission first.
When something leaves your device
Only if you choose an online AI in settings. Then Tab Tidy AI sends tab titles and site names, history page titles, or chat titles to the AI service you picked, using your own key:
- Free options: Google Gemini (AI Studio), Groq or OpenRouter.
- Paid options: OpenAI-compatible services, Anthropic or TypeSafe.
That service handles the titles under its own privacy policy. Your key is stored only in your browser and is never included in exports.
The default setting ("Auto") uses the AI built into your browser when it's there, which runs on your computer and sends nothing. Otherwise it uses simple rules on your device.
What we never do
- Sell or share your data.
- Use it for ads, profiling or credit decisions.
- Change anything on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or the other AI sites. Folders and titles are only shown in your browser.
- Load code from the internet. All of the extension's code ships inside it.
Your data, your call
- Open Settings → Your data to download everything as a file, import it on another computer, or delete it all.
- Removing the extension deletes everything it saved.
Kids
Tab Tidy AI collects nothing about anyone, so it collects nothing about children either.
